Foot reflection therapy is a
process of normalizing organ functions by treating the corresponding reflection
areas on the feet. The most common types of foot reflection therapy are foot
massage and foot bath.
There are very few acupuncture
points on the bottom of the feet, but, almost every part of the body has a reflection
area here. Chinese Medicine doctors can tell which part of your body is not
well just by touching your feet. They treat the problems by treating the related
areas.
One of the methods of foot reflection
therapy is foot massage. It is a great way to stimulate the organ reflection
areas on the bottom of the feet. If you can’t get a professional foot massage,
it is easy to do by yourself. Just rub the bottoms and sides of the feet with the
hands for several minutes, it will help
to improve the blood circulation. If you want to do a little more, review the reflection
area figures and try to find the areas for a specific organ. If it feels
more painful at a certain spot when pressed, press and massage that area for a
longer time.
There are six meridians
starting from or ending at each foot. All their primary acupuncture points are
below the ankles. Another foot reflection therapy method is foot bath. It can
active the original energy within the meridians by warming up the primary
points and freeing up the energy inside the meridians. The benefits of a foot
bath are tremendous. A good night’s sleep is just a small and quick result.
A 20-to-30-minute foot bath
every day before going to bed is sufficient. Use a tall container, so you can
immerse more portions of your lower legs. The water temperature depends on your
tolerance, but do use the hottest water that you can comfortably tolerate.
Professional foot reflection
therapy can involve a lot more techniques and devices. It also treats more
diseases than daily health maintenance. |
